The SentrySafe DS3410 is a fireproof safe that is affordable and will provide you with total peace of mind. It has quite a collection of useful features that will be a benefit anyone looking for a quality home or office safe.
It has a mechanical dial combination style system to control the four live locking bolts in the door. This is a good sized unit with an exterior measuring 17.8 x 16.3 x 19.3 inches and its interior is large enough to hold quite a number of different sized items.
If you’re in an office or generally have a lot of important documents you want protected from fire then this safe, with its 1.2 cubic feet interior capacity, is large enough for storing A-4 size documents, folders, binders or any other important paperwork.

thinking it is small inside. Its interior dimensions are around 1.2 cubic feet which is ample enough to hold folders, binders, A4 sized papers, DVDs, videos, documents and all manner of things.
The multi-position removable shelf is ideal for keeping all your possessions stacked neatly and away from harm. There are slots on either side of the interior wall for slotting the shelf into position. There are quite a few placing options and you can even remove the shelf completely if you have an item that needs more room to fit. With the extra space there will be ample room for any small boxes you may want to place inside the safe.
This DS3410 fireproof safe also has an added bonus just inside the door. There is a key rack which has five mini hooks for you to hang various important keys. This is a very useful feature especially for those of us who like our belongings to be neatly organized. Above the key rack and in the top edge of the door is a small compartment where you can put any loose items such as coins, pieces of jewelry, mementoes, etc.
Right at the bottom there is a slot almost at full width of the door and this is perfect for storing all those very important documents such as insurance papers, birth certificates, passport papers, etc. This area really makes items easy to find without having to dig around in the safe.

For the best type of safe security there is a 3-number combination lock and an additional key lock. So, both a combination and the key are needed to open this safe.
To some, this may seem like overkill but really you can never be too careful when it comes to protecting your valuables.
The lock has a clicking dial making a fairly audible “click” when moved and also when it has been locked into position correctly. It has four live-locking bolts that slot into position with one turn of the metal handle.
Two are positioned at the opening side of the door and two are at the closing side. An impossible task trying to take this door off its hinges!

SentrySafe DS3410 Trustworthy Construction
The exterior has a durable black powder-coat finish which works great for hiding the safe in a dark part of a room. It doesn’t stand out at all and can even be hidden under a nice cloth and used as a side table. Any burglar who does get in will have a rough time trying to find it.
The DS3410 has been vigorously tested gaining a UL classification as a one-hour fire safe and also an ETL
certification to withstand a drop from 15 feet.
These tests are very important especially regarding fire safes. By passing this intense testing you know that in the event of a fire your belongings will be protected. For one hour this safe can withstand up to 1,700 degrees Fahrenheit protecting all important papers and other delicate items such as DVD’s, CD’s, digital media and more within that time frame.
As far as weight goes this DS3410 safe only weighs in at 99 pounds, (44.9 kg), so it isn’t massively heavy so could be moved around if need be. Two strong men could quite easily pick the safe up and walk away with it so for additional security I would advice that you pick a secure spot and bolt the safe to the floor. Enclosed with the DS3410 safe is hardware and instructions for a quick and pain free installation.
Conclusion
The SentrySafe DS3410is an all round good safe for its price. It is perfect for anyone who doesn’t like the modern electronics most commonly found on devices these days. Electronic digital safes seem to be quite a popular buy these days but it really all depends on your preferences.
Another plus for this safe is that it does not require electricity and also doesn’t have any tiny buttons to push or worry about melting in the event of a fire. The inner workings are solid and there is ample room inside for a whole variety of valuables. Overall this is a good basic safe that can satisfy many security needs. For a quality safe under $200 you can’t really go wrong with this product.
The safe offers basic theft protection and would deter a casual burglar who just wants a quick and easy in and out job. However, with the right tools and a little extra time a thief could get into this safe with some determined work. If anti-theft is your main priority then it may be a good idea to spend a little extra and invest in a safe with more theft-proof features.

UL and ETL Verification for the SentrySafe DS3410
For any safe to be certified as a fireproof product it needs to be put through some vigorous testing first. This DS3410 has past three main certified tests of which we can see below:
- It has a UL Classified one hour proven fire protection stamp of approval. This is a fire endurance test that surrounds the safe in a fire with temperatures of 1700 degrees Fahrenheit for the duration of an hour.
- It has been ETL verified for the protection of CDs, DVDs, memory sticks and USB drives for one hour in a fire with temperatures of 1700 degrees Fahrenheit.
- It has passed the ETL fire and impact test. The DS3410 will be heated up to 1550 degrees Fahrenheit and then dropped from a height of 15 feet onto rubble. After the safe has cooled it will be inverted and then reheated to 1550 once more for a half-hour. When the testing was over the safe remained intact and its interior temperature was no higher than 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Lost Combination And Keys
If you have lost the combination to your safe or the override keys then what you need to do is find your safe’s model and serial number and then contact a Sentry retailer. You will find the serial number printed on a label beside the door hinge on the outside.
